CARENET Alumni "Still Getting Things Done"

Merinda Camper, 2007-2008

I am from, Eaton, Ohio, which is down in Preble County.  I joined CARENET after serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA in New York.  I am now attending Metrostate in Denver and pursuing a degree in nonprofit management.

Logan Hamel, 2007-2008

I am living in Atlanta where I attend graduate school at Georgia Tech.  I work as a research assistant for the Aerospace Systems Design Lab. I joined AmeriCorps last year because I wanted to take a break from school, and I love teaching and working with kids. I like Atlanta but I hope I can move back to the wonderful state of Colorado when I graduate.

Jenny McCargish, 2007-2008

I am also from Eaton, Ohio! I joined AmeriCorps because I felt that if I was  lucky enough to have the means to "give back" then I should do it. I ended up having such an awesome experience with the CARENET program, my team members and Dupont Elementary school that I decided to join AmeriCorps for a second term, this time with HealthCorps.

Marcus Woods, 2007-2008

Marcus is a Colorado native.  He joined CARENET after receiving a degree in psychology from Boston College.  Throughout his year with AmeriCorps he entertained the team with his quick witt.  He is now one of Denver's greatest ballroom dance instructors and can be found wearing his sunglasses at night.

Lisa Kellogg, 2006-2007

I grew up in the northeast and moved out here about two summers ago. I taught first grade in Vermont for a year. I moved to Denver to join CARENET and be near my family, especially my 2 1/2 year old niece. I was at Kemp for '06-'07. Then I was hired by Kemp as a second grade teacher for last year. This is my second year teaching second grade at Kemp. I'm grateful that my CARENET placement landed me in a great school that had the perfect position for me.

Micah Klaver, 2006-2007

Micah came to the CARENET team from Michigan.  He is now pursuing his masters in education through Colorado State at Denver and is director of Wonderful Outdoor World.

Zak Martin, 2004-2007 former Program Coordinator

Let's see....Although never being a member for CARENET Zak became Program Manager of the CARENET program in 2004...and stuck with it until 2007 until he turned it over to better hands. He served in AmeriCorps in 2000-2001 in Worcester MA. He currently teaches 5th grade and loves it. He is no longer in Adams County SD 14, but is always willing to grab a bat and play some softball for the CARENET Allstars.

Erin Donner, 2004-2005

Erin is currently a 3rd grade teacher at Kemp Elementary.  She is originally from Estes Park and has resided in Denver for the past several years.  Erin received her bachelors degree from CSU and recently completed her masters work through Regis University.  In her spare time, Erin plays volleyball, tennis, and softball and enjoys reading.

Kelly Holt, 2004-2005

Kelly Holt, formally Kelly Ruben, is from upstate New York.  After receiving her BA in education, Kelly moved to Colorado.  She was an enthusiastic member of CARENET during the 2004-2005 school year.  She now teaches third grade in the Adams 14 school district at Monaco Elementary.
