OUR VISION:
The CARENET AmeriCorps team will work to increase students’ academic achievement and overall life success by working to increase literacy levels and providing opportunities to students to become civically engaged in their own community through service and other enrichment activities.
OUR VALUES:
The CARENET AmeriCorps team values a high ethic of service through which we engage ourselves in the Commerce City community with a specific focus on the students in Adams 14. Team members serve as positive role models for students in the classroom and before- and after-school programs where they provide personalized attention to youth via small group and individualized tutoring and mentoring. The CARENET AmeriCorps team also values the opportunity to strengthen the Commerce City community via assisting with and creating numerous service projects throughout the year.
2008-2009 PRIORITIES:
Provide safe, constructive out-of-school time activities for students by serving as assistants in or running after-school programs. Increase students’ literacy levels by providing individual and small group tutoring. Increase attendance at the ILC’s adult education classes (Work Keys and GED). Provide training and experiential opportunities for CARENET AmeriCorps members to become better prepared to meet future educational and occupational goals.
